Does my child get homework help at HASP?
-Yes, students receive homework help at HASP. Depending on the grade level, some students may receive more time (i.e. 4 and 5 Grade students have more allotted time for homework than Grade 1 students).
Homework is supposed to be 'independent practice' and therefore should not need a great deal of help. We offer the time to work on it. Please have the conversation with your child about your expectations for completion. Children may not be allowed to continue to work on homework unsupervised when their group moves on to another activity.
Does my child get to go outside and be active?
- Students are given the opportunity to go outside (weather permitting). During inclement weather we have access to the gym for activities.
Does my child have to attend HASP everyday?
-No, there are a variety of packages that we offer that can fit your schedule. We have full time packages as well as daily rates.
Can I pick random days to attend HASP each week?
-No. We do not offer a drop in service. If your schedule fluctuates often it is recommended that your child signs up for full time status. Otherwise you will be charged the full price of each random day you attend (i.e. if your child is Monday and Tuesday only and they attend on a Wednesday, they will be billed for the full month of Wednesdays).
Does my child receive snack?
-Yes, we provide a universal snack.
Are there late fees in this program?
-Yes, if you fail to pay on time you are assessed a late fee. If your check is declined for insufficient funds you are assessed a fee and then must pay by Money Order. If you are late (even by a minute or two) to pick up your child (after 6pm) you are assessed a fee per 15 minutes late.
